Protecting is an act of love

Considered the most intelligent animals, dolphins are part of the group of human beings’ favorite animals. They are able to do high complexity tasks, communicate with humans and even save them in times of trouble. So why do people still treat them with cruelty?

Dolphins are part of the diet in some Asian countries and a lot of different species are already on the brink of being declared extinct because of the poaching. Besides, scientists have already proven that the life expectancy of these animals decreases when they are kept in captivity. As it is not their natural habitat, the species can’t adapt to it and die. We must always bear in mind that these mammals are wild animals and must live in places the nature has provided them with.

Showing the ruthlessness with which they are treated, the documentary “The Cove” draws our attention to the care that we must have with our ecosystems while there is still time to mitigate the damage. The production is directed by the National Geographic photographer Louie Psihoyos and follows environmentalists who fight against the country’s authorities and fishermen, filming them in a secret cave where animals are slaughtered in Taiji in the northern part of Japan.

Embrace this idea and protect the dolphins: an act of love for the planet, nature and animals!
